Sex and the City movie makes you happy or sad?
[font=Arial][size=10pt]SATC is a great movie. At least it makes me think about my relationships I had in the past 7 years. What I’ve got and what I have missed. The problem is I feel that I got nothing but wasting time to manage a relationship. Why? Coz I got nothing until I get into a new relationship.[/size][/font] 4h@)n }L[font=Arial][size=10pt]4 words for SATC: fabulous, sad, rich and selfish.[/size][/font]
[font=Arial][size=10pt]Why fabulous? Obviously, the [size=3][color=#ff0000]fashion[/color][/size] in the movie is one of the most important roles, the dresses, shoes, make up,[/size][/font][size=2][font=Times New Roman][color=#000000] [/color][/font][font=Arial][size=10pt]jewelries, brands, etc. What a happy beginning! Seems everyone has got what they want, such as great men, great jobs and great relationships. Carrie is still with Mr. Big whom she has gone out with for over 10 years and finally decides to get married. Both Charlott and Miranda have happy families with two adorable kids. Samantha is still my favorite part as well as her famous wisdom:” I love you but I love myself more". I don't agree as I think it is a little bit over. At least it's barely in reality. However, I like the way she [size=3][color=#0070c0]protects[/color][/size] herself from suffering pain from men.[/size][/font][/size] !gx~0@9U3Z6[ ~M
[font=Arial][size=10pt]Why sad? Groom ran away from the wedding. Is there anything sadder than this in a relationship? The movie has a very happy ending, but I keep asking myself why great people have to suffer sadness before being happy. Can we just skip those unhappy parts and jump to the end?[/size][/font] [font=Arial][size=10pt]Someone gonna laugh at me and say:” silly girl, it's just a movie." It is just a movie, but there is something still in common which is [size=3][color=#92d050]loneliness [/color][/size]no matter it is in the movie or in reality. When you feel lonely too much, you will become selfish. Miranda’s husband who I used to think he was the best man in the SATC drama cheated on her, and told her that he slept with other woman. The excuse is it just happened because Miranda hasn’t had sex with him in the last 6 months, but he still loves Miranda. Good news is he told her what he did and he doesn’t mean to hurt her, but the bad news is he is still a bastard. Here brings a question:” Is sex really like that important in a relationship?” I don’t want to say yes or no here, coz I don’t know either.[/size][/font] n/F?9y(_6BZ
[font=Arial][size=10pt]Why rich? As far as I know, all the romantic moments in the movie are built on [size=3][color=#7030a0]money[/color][/size]. Large apartment, huge wardrobe with hundreds of shoes and dresses and wonderful Mexico journey brought my attention that what if I marry a man who only can afford a house and a car or even worse than that? How can I have my romance? If you go to the self-help section of every book shops, you can see that there are a lot of “relationship” books out there and try to teach you how to manage your life or marriage. Finally Carrie and John got married, but how many times had Carrie been hurt by John in the last 10 years. Why men don’t want to get married, because they are selfish enough. You can either change them or become more selfish than them to overcome unnecessary pain. Sex and the city explores love not in the convensional sense, but the steriotypical sense. You have the dream love (charlotte), the dominating love (Miranda), the struggling fairy tale love (SJP) and the sexual love (samantha) I believe each of us have a little bit of each in our own love, which is why SatC connects so well with the female audiance.
Unfortunately the male reluctance to commit has nothing to do with them wanting to hurt you, but with the genetics that are programed into them that says they must go out and reproduce as much as possible. Marriage to them is a burdan, a jail cell, or a prison sentence. Would you really want a guy who would hurry down the isle with you then find out he has no problems hurrying to the divorce courts?
It's very rare we marry the one we truely love. As the case happiness is what you make it... Even though Big has hurt Carrie over and over again, her best memories, and the times when she's been most happy has been with him... it might have hurt her, but that hurt is more a bitter sweet symphony which may have defined the future course of her life. 38.gif 38.gif 38.gif
