I’ve had a fruitful weekend, so I thought I’d write about the other mess that happened on the weekend apart from my car.
As you know Teddy is almost 1, so it’s time to find him a ‘wife’. Upon a chanced encounter, one of mum’s friend has a dog which she would like to give away. Her name’s Michelle.
Michelle is a leggy ice blonde of Maltese and Poodle descent. She was elegant beautiful with ice blonde curls. She’s very sweet and cuddly. Her voice was a little high and whiny, but I’m sure guys can over look that for a leggy blonde right? She was also only just turned 1, making her slightly older than our Teddy, but Shanghainess believes in older brides so we figured that was okay.
Anyways around 11 in the morning we set off to pick up Teddy’s ‘bride’. We fell in love with her almost instantly. A little high maintenance, but that’s usually expected from such beauties, we got her in the car, and in all doggie fashion she spent the entire 25min trip home with her head wedged outside the window enjoying the sights. This isn’t so hard I thought.
Arriving home was when it all started to go wrong. As soon as she saw Teddy she was interested, sniffling and rubbing herself all over him. Hussy, I thought to myself. It was actually Teddy who was stand offish and not sure how to take this new found affection from a lady. So in complete male fashion, he ran… and ran… and ran.
Next up was the introduction to the man of the family, Lucky the rottie. That didn’t go as well. Where in Teddy was shy, Lucky had no such inhibitions, he went at Michelle like a lion out of its cage. The end result? One very scared girl who ran for her life… I wanted to give up at this point, as I did not want a dog around that didn’t get along with Lucky but Dad persisted… “give it time he said”
By this time Teddy’s had some time to think about his predicament and decided he’s rather found of it. So all around the house he chased her, Michelle on the other hand, was playing games most girls play. By ignoring him, she ensured his interest. Who would have thought that dogs can play such games…
Now to make a long story short. It didn’t work out as well as I’d have liked, we had to unfortunately give Michelle back. But all in all it was an interesting day… The search for the next Mrs Teddy however continues… only time will tell.
