Pride's Price

With the death toll rising in both China and Burma (50k and 71k respectively), and both denying the aid of foreign countries, it brings me the question how much is national pride worth.  Not in terms of monatary values of course but lives.

 

With 2 million displaced in Burma, and almost 1 million in China the need for critical care doctors, essential medicines, water and food are the up most importance.  With so many bodies unburried disease is only a matter of time, and over worked doctors make mistakes.  I understand that the roads are blocked by debris, and getting to the people are hard.  But please I implore you, allow air drops, allow medical personel drops.  If your decision saves but 1 single life, it would be worth putting down your pride for that split second.

 

Alas face is one of the most important things to the asian society.  Face with it's useless front, and hollow glammor.  Face with it's misery filled up keeping, and it's ignorence in love...

 

So, what is the price you're willing to pay for national pride?  How many lives will you sacrifice for the appearence of control?  How long will you wait before it's too late?
